Research/Clinical Interest
Title
Transfusion Medicine; Therapeutic Apheresis; Extracorporeal Photopheresis
Description
Collaborated with Cerus Corporation for Pegylated RBC Compliment Activation Studies (Patent 6129912) Albumin Glue Research Project with Biomaterial Department which has potential to replace stitches for surgical sutures (Patent 6656496) Develop a Granulocute DAT assay to detect Transfusion Related Acute Lung Injury (TRALI) which is number one transfusion related mortality. Develiop chemical modified factor 8 concentrates which will prevent interaction with factor 8 inhibitor in hemophilia patient. Collaborated with Heart Transplant Research to study T regulatory cells which induce immune tolerance by photopheresis to prevent heart transplant rejection.
