Description of services
The UAB shoulder service provides world class operative and non-operative treatment for all disorders involving the shoulder. Dr. Ponce is facile in all aspects of shoulder care involving: shoulder instability/dislocations, rotator cuff disease (from bursitis to tears to rotator cuff arthropathy), glenohumeral arthritis, proximal humeral fractures, acromial clavicular (AC) joint injuries, sternoclavicular joint injuries, scapulothoracic bursitis/snapping scapula, suprascapular nerve entrapment.

Their presentation "Telesurgery: Use of Augmented Reality in Orthopaedic Education" received one of three best scientific exhibits at this year's national AAOS meeting. His abstract received an invitation for publication in the leading orthopaedic journal, The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery.
