Her clinical work involves neuropsychological evaluation of adults and older adults with a wide variety of neurological disorders, with a speciality focus in dementia, movement disorders (including DBS pre-surgical evaluations), and neuro-oncology.

Dr. Triebel is also involved in educating graduate students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows in neuropsychology. She is the Director of the Neuropsychology Fellowship Training Program in the Department of Neurology. She is the Chair-Elect of the Membership Committee and an Advisor of the Student Membership Committee of the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN). Research/Clinical Interest
Medical Decision Making Capacity in Patients with Metastatic Brain Cancer
Dr. Triebel is a clinician scientist investigating cognitive and functional change in patients with neurological disorders. She is funded by the American Cancer Society, NIH, and other private organizations. Her research focuses on decisional capacity, cognition, and everyday functioning of patients with a variety of neurological disorders including cancer, traumatic brain injury, mild cognitive impairment, and Parkinson's disease. Dr. Triebel is also a co-investigator of studies examining financial and medical decision making in healthy older adults and in patients with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease.
