Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Elgavish was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Epilepsy on July 1, 2008. After receiving his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 1994, Dr. Elgavish came to UAB and joined the Medical Scientist Training Program. Over that nine-year period, he received a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2000, a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2001, and his Medical Degree in 2003. He left UAB for one year to complete a medicine internship at the Baptist Health System in Birmingham, after which he returned and completed his residency training with the Department of Neurology in 2007. He then completed a one-year clinical neurophysiology fellowship (EEG track) working with the Epilepsy Division, and following that he was invited to join the faculty. Dr. Elgavish sees patients at The Kirklin Clinic on Tuesdays.
